The Wasatch County Solid Waste Transfer Station requires refrigerators and freezers to be fully drained of refrigerant, with a certification or visible technician tag showing it was legally recovered. Other appliances go by weight at $56 per ton, with a $20 minimum for a secured load. Since November 1, 2022, the station has told licensed contractors to take their loads elsewhere, so a hauled load may go to Ace Intermountain Recycling in Heber City instead; the fee is billed at cost either way.
