Usually yes, if the door is already drilled for a standard deadbolt. The guide for one common touchscreen deadbolt calls for a 2-1/8 or 1-1/2 inch door hole, a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch backset, and a door 1-3/8 or 1-3/4 inches thick. Measure before buying.

Does a keypad lock need wiring?

No, most keypad deadbolts run on batteries and need no wiring. They mount through the same holes as a keyed deadbolt. Hardwired access systems are a different product and belong to an electrician or access-control installer.

How should codes be managed for a rental?
